Your new job

You will work closely with citizens in their daily lives to support and promote an independent life. The tasks include social support, personal care, medication management, activities, and household work - always with the citizen's participation in focus. There will be heavy lifting with aids and challenging/aggressive behavior that you will need to manage. The staff works according to a pedagogical approach with visual support and low-arousal responses tailored to the individual. Several citizens have diabetes, and we work extensively to manage and adjust blood sugar levels continuously.

In this role, you will actively work with social documentation, implementation plans, and case management. Collaboration occurs with relatives, legal representatives, colleagues, supervisors, and other professionals such as healthcare, employment/occupational services, and authorities. Other tasks may occur and vary over time.

As a support pedagogue, you are tasked with supporting, guiding, and developing the workgroup within the pedagogical work. You plan, follow up, and develop the work together with your colleagues, and you provide support with work plans, documentation, and implementation plans. Together, you identify and create conditions for individual development and motivation for each person.

Your qualifications

For the title of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability field with a pedagogical focus is required, covering at least 200 YH points or 60 HP. Examples of YH education include support pedagogue, activation pedagogue, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue.

For the title of support assistant, a completed upper secondary program in child and leisure with a focus on social/pedagogical work or health and care with a specialization in the disability field/psychiatry is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have at least three years of experience in the disability support field. It is advantageous if you have worked with sign language support, mobility aids, methodological work, low-arousal responses, and type 1 diabetes. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension is required for handling documentation, information gathering, and communication, as well as being comfortable with digital tools. Good physical mobility is required as the work can be physically demanding. A driver's license for a manual transmission is a requirement.

As a person, you are calm and stable, even in pressured situations. You communicate clearly and meet others with confidence and respect. You have a strong focus on the needs and development of citizens and use your pedagogical skills to adapt support to the individual. Personal maturity is highly valued as you can understand and manage different situations the individual may find themselves in. Furthermore, you are structured and meticulous but also flexible and creative when the work requires it.

Welcome to us

Group Housing Hallmansvägen is a recently renovated LSS residence for people with disabilities, focused on individuals with diabetes. The residence is located in Bymarken with a beautiful view of Lake Vättern and a garden full of planting beds, fruit trees, and berry bushes. You can easily reach us by city bus that stops outside the facility, and there is also parking available. Currently, five citizens live at Hallmansvägen, with planned move-ins throughout the year. Here, you will work with a group of citizens who lead active lives with walks and activities. The workgroup currently consists of 14 engaged employees, five of whom work only awake nights.

The goal is to promote personal abilities and create as rich and qualitative an everyday life as possible, considering personal integrity. We are now looking forward to welcoming new colleagues and are searching for you who can contribute to our operations with security and good pedagogical knowledge!

Good to know

The recruitment concerns a permanent position and a parental leave substitute with a start date in April-May or as agreed. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening/weekend. Jönköping Municipality always offers a 100% employment rate, and co-planning with work in another facility may occur.
